A History of the Corsairs.

The band formed in January of 2009 and consists of Phil (Drums), Gary (Bass guitar and vocals), John (Keyboard and vocals) and Young Phill (Lead/Rhythm guitar and lead vocals)
John and Big Phil met as part of a band in the 60's/70's known as the Skysounds playing as a resident band at the Skyline Ballroom in Hull. Whilst with the Skysounds Phil and John backed various artists including Sandie Shaw and the Rocking Berries.
Gary was an old friend of Phil's but until joining the Corsairs had never played together
before. Gary has played in numerous bands since the 60's including Chapter 4 and The Late Arrivals as well as many duos. Gary took a break for 20 years before being contacted and asked to play for The Corsairs.
Young Phill is a classically trained Clarinettist and has played in a number of orchestras including the Orchestra of Hull.
The band is now coming to the end of its first incredible year and we hope to continue as long as people still enjoy us.
